Who knew?

Exactly one year ago today I made a decision to move my entire personal training business on-line. It was absolutely one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make in my entire life. I shed many tears, and faced an array of emotions as they came to the surface. I was terrified of the response I would get and completely uncertain if I was making the right decision. Concerned that I was making the decision too early, and wondering if I should put it off until September, I had to make a gut-wrenching announcement to my loyal kettlebell class members, private clients, and yoga students. I had to let them know that I would no longer be available in person. That they could continue to see me, but it would have to be online if they did. I sold off and lent out my entire collection of class-use kettlebells, in an epic shift to a new location: my computer.

Now, I had had 4 years of experience using my iPad to train my private clients, who were living in Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg, Swift Current, Port Hope, and beyond. I was already learning how to be an effective coach over a screen. And I was confident that my clients could get excellent results using this distance coaching in lieu of in-person sessions. My move from Toronto to Saskatoon 5 years ago facilitated this endeavour, and I have some special clients to thank for that!

But at the time, I had absolutely no idea that moving my in-person Kettlebell and Yoga classes to an On Demand membership, would be so utterly relevant. Who could have foreseen that my fellow yoga studio, gym owners, and personal trainers would be forced to do the same, one year later?

”At the time, I had absolutely no idea that moving my in-person Kettlebell and Yoga classes to an On Demand membership, would be so utterly relevant.”

I was (and still am) working with a business and personal coach who helped me take the leap, and she is also someone I can’t thank enough for being in my life. Someone who helped me realize a vision for a more sustainable future. Someone who has helped me see that taking a giant leap may have a massive impact that can’t be seen until it has already been taken. And a leap that one year later, after I have had time to experiment, grow, learn, and digest the reality of an on-line business, has been one of the best things I could ever have hoped for.

Thanks to this decision, I was prepared for this unique, worldwide situation we find ourselves in. I was able to help out immediately. I was ready, and could handle the demand for, well, On Demand coaching. The 70+ workout and yoga videos that I have created over the past year were ready to go, already being used, and available for new users who were searching to find a new routine, somewhere to find respite, and a friendly face to help them through this difficult time.

For me, the fast forward button has been pressed, and has not been paused.

I have been working around the clock to make sure I have enough workouts that don’t require kettlebells, that my membership is FREE for those who can’t pay at this time, and that my membership is something that is not just a quick-fix.

That it is a place to keep coming back to, and a place to ground and build foundations and skills that will transfer to outdoor activities (that we will one day be able to resume).

In light of this goal, to provide more people with a place to get stronger, more aware of fundamental human movements and essential movement patterns, more skilled at strength training technique, and more in touch with flexibility, mobility, yoga, and also a restorative practice, I have made some adjustments to my Kettlebell + Yoga On Demand membership program.

These changes are:

#1. There are now enough general workouts and yoga classes that provide you with a place to workout even if you don’t yet have a kettlebell.

#2. I have inserted Learn to Kettlebell inclusive of Kettlebell Foundations inside the Kettlebell + Yoga on Demand program!

#3. I have made some adjustments to the layout and the organization of the workout and yoga library.

#4. I have added a FREE 1 month membership for you to use!

The easiest way for you to see if this membership is for you, is to sign up for this free trial.

Absolutely no commitment is necessary, and no credit card information is needed.

I simply want you to experience what I have to offer.

Try out a yoga class, a mobility session, or dive into the Foundations of Kettlebell.

This is my way of helping to ground us all, myself included, in this time of uncertainty.
